Your Role
An opportunity has arisen for a trainee Multi Skilled Driver (LGV1) based in Corby, UK. Reporting to the Transport Manager the trainee will receive full on the job training as well as time off duties and funding for the required mandatory training. Once fully trained and you have obtained the relevant license required you will safely operate all types of the Company’s LGV’s, delivering bulk or bagged products in an efficient, cost effective and professional manner. The role will comprise of an average 48 hour working a 5 over 7 off shift pattern with flexible start times to meet operational demand. You will also be required to participate in the weekend working rota. While this role will be mainly concerned with the delivery of bulk flour, the successful candidate must be prepared to undertake manual bagged flour deliveries when required.
Your Responsibilities

Working safely

Driving and operating the LGV vehicle consistent with current legislation and Company safety and health requirements

Unloading and delivering flour sacks from LGV’s to customers premises
-
Discharging bulk flour in accordance with company operating procedures

Assisting in training and development of colleagues

Taking care of customers in a professional manner

Cleaning vehicles (where applicable) at specified intervals and ensuring deliveries are undertaken in a hygienic manner

Accurate completion of all relevant paperwork (vehicle defect reports, daily driver debrief sheet, safety observation reports etc.)
Your Profile-
Excellent customer service skills

Numeracy and literacy

The ability to lift heavy items (i.e. 25 kg flour sacks)

A provisional LGV C & E license

Working toward DCPC qualification card
-
Extensive knowledge of road transport legislation (EU driver’s hours, RTD, Highway Code etc.)

Understanding and trained in manual handling work

Experience in Customer relations

Knowledge of flour products and food hygiene
