Job Description
We are looking for a new member of staff to join our friendly, dedicated secretarial team which support our busy clinicians within Rehabilitations Services: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition & Dietetics and Speech & Language Therapy.
The successful candidate will provide full administrative support to include activities such as:
- Typing letters using an in house system and action once approved.
- Order stationary, medical supplies and uniform and distribute once arrived.
- Ensure all relevant information is filed appropriately and maintain efficient office filing system both paper and electronic
- Organise provision of rooms, audio visual equipment etc. for use at meetings and interviews, as instructed
If you are enthusiastic, motivated, reliable and efficient with excellent IT and communication skills then this could be the job for you. Whilst NHS experience would be helpful, it’s not essential, we’re happy to help familiarise you with the clinical environment.
There is a high proportion of typing within the role therefore touch typing and audio typing experience is essential, full training will be provided on the NHS systems. Attention to detail is paramount as is an ability to deal with sensitive information on a day to day basis.
We do need you to be willing and able to work across the two main hospital sites of Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon.

- To provide typing, administrative and clerical support to ensure an effective and efficient service in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Contribute to the overall achievement of the secretarial team workload, providing cover as required.
- Band 2 staff are expected to work together to achieve standard tasks.
- In addition to managing standard tasks work will be allocated through the Secretarial Team Manager.
- Carry out detailed instructions seeking clarification where necessary.
- There are no responsibilities for line management of staff or budget control.
